One thing that has perplexed me recently is my vitamin D level.

Specifically, how low it is. I live in sunny California, stick to a healthy diet, have a light skin complexion, and spend a fair amount of time outdoors. Despite all that, my vitamin D level is on the lower side of the healthy range - 32 ng/mL. When I consider the statistics showing that 35%-42% of adults in the United States are vitamin D deficient, it suddenly makes a lot more sense.

Interestingly, sleep duration is linked to vitamin D levels. This connection exists because vitamin D plays a crucial role in producing melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleep.

To address this, I’ve started taking a vitamin D supplement. I'm curious to see how this will affect my vitamin D levels - and hopefully, improve my sleep as well. I'll update everyone after a month or two.
